Founded in 2004, Gaia's Nest is nestled amongst the native bushland of Mornington, Hobart. Inspired by a deep respect for childhood, nature and the rhythm of life, we give children the time, space and freedom to explore, imagine and grow.
Our natural bush setting is an integral part of our learning environment, inviting children to form meaningful connections with the earth, the seasons and the world around them. Through uninterrupted play, creative experiences, storytelling and time outdoors, children develop confidence, curiosity, resilience and a strong sense of belonging.
We honour each child as a unique individual. Our educators thoughtfully create warm, predictable and inspiring environments that support children's wellbeing, creativity and natural desire to learn.

Our native bush setting is the heart of every day — climbing, building, watching and wondering. Children are outdoors in all weather, properly dressed and free to roam.

Alongside caring for children, Gaia's Nest shares its knowledge and experience with the broader early childhood sector across Tasmania — encouraging reflective practice, connection and a deeper understanding of children's learning.
In our thoughts, and in our hearts, we believe our connection to Country is present through our daily rhythms and practices. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land we learn from, and recognise that our connection is a journey.
